The Rocky Oilmen’s Association was founded in 1966 by Alex Brown, Vern Murshell, Charlie Whitesell, and a few other volunteers. The original concept being to provide a social atmosphere to promote comradery for male oil patch personnel to enjoy.
2011 mark the 46th year of the association, and the concept is still going strong. Our main focus is to host our annual curling bonspiel and golf tournaments, however, over the years we have expanded our boundaries to try and help out in the community financially as much as possible.
We are a nonprofit organization which relies heavily on corporate donations and sponsorships so that our community may benefit. Over the last 46 years our association has donated back to the community over half a million dollars in the form of educational scholarships, donations to charitable organizations and community groups.
We live in an amazing community in as far as sponsorships and support goes, the likes of which many other individuals who support, not only our association, but the whole community are the reason we still exist, and are to be commended!!
“Here’s to the next 46 years”
Thanks,
Rocky Oilmen's Association Members
